Touch Frame

Touch Frame are about to launch the first interactive TV-quality show to be distributed as an iPad app, Mash Creative were commissioned to create a brand identity that would help position them as pioneers in tablet entertainment.

The Touch Frame app will allow viewers to either play along with a game show (whilst watching it from their tablet) or interact with other video content they are watching by simply touching the frame of video on the screen (hence the name Touch Frame). Since their shows are released as apps as opposed to on TV - they didn't want any tv symbols within the logo.

We wanted to create a stand alone logo marque that would sit well within an app beveled button and symbolize the meaning of the app in a ‘non obvious’ way.

The idea and thought process behind the marque was derived from screen pixels. Millions of tiny pixels all come together to create images on-screen, on tv and mobile devices. Image No.1 shows some of the images that helped inspire the logo - namely pixel squares and colour test bars used for TV.

The logo is made up of 12 squares, the form is made up of the letter 't' and 'F', the 'F' has been created by the same form as the letter 't' but flipped and reversed. The possibilities with this logo are endless.

The marque sits comfortably within a square and has the option of being used as a solid shape or an outline. The negative space created between the 't' and flipped 'F' mirrors pixel patterns.
